THE FRENCH REVOLUTION GRAN FONDO

Starting and finishing in Calais, France, the French Revolution Gran Fondo is a 126 km ride designed to give riders a memorable day on French roads.
From Calais the route heads out into the surrounding countryside, passing through a selection of traditional French villages, quiet rural roads and open farmland before looping back towards the coast and the finish in Calais.
The event is designed as an enjoyable Gran Fondo rather than an all-out race. Ride at your own pace, enjoy the French countryside and make a proper day of it on the bike.

The feed station at around the halfway point will give riders the chance to refill bottles and take on food before completing the second half of the route back to Calais.
This is a friendly and welcoming event suitable for riders who want to attept a 100 km ride in the beautiful French countryside.
THERE ARE NO TRAVEL OPTIONS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN WAY TO CALAIS
Our advice? Grab a few friends and make a couple of days of it. Calais really is much more than just a ferry port. With its coastline, cafés, restaurants, surrounding villages and French countryside, it makes a great base for a weekend break.
If you're travelling over on the morning of the event, either by ferry or via the Channel Tunnel, we've planned the timings to make things easier.
Registration will remain open until 09:45, giving you time to arrive in Calais, register and get yourself ready to ride.
If you enter with Jersey you will be sent a code to purchase your Jersey in our shop
You will also need to inform us of your Event distance before we post out your jersey.
To receive a finisher’s medal, you’ll need to enter by 24th May, that’s the cut-off date for us to place the medal order.
Entries will still remain open after this date, but late entrants can take part without a medal or can have a generic medal.

Full route-marking details will be confirmed in the final rider information. We strongly recommend having the GPX route loaded onto a phone or cycling computer.
There is one 100 km route. Final start times, any cut-off time and the event finish time will be confirmed in the rider information before the event.
Food and drink will vary slightly by location, but feed stations usually include:
Water and energy drink.
Bananas, crisps, jellybeans or jelly babies.
Waffles, Jaffa Cakes, flapjack and cake.
Tea and coffee.
Plus a few other things that we source as they become available. Not everything listed will be available at every feed station.
We do not supply gels and cannot guarantee that products do not contain nuts, gluten or wheat. If you have specific food tolerances, you will need to carry your own supplies.
